    A shirt/covering with straps or sleeves, and fabric that covers their front, back, and on the sides under the arms.
    • Must have shoulder straps.
    • Entire area from armpit to armpit must be covered.


    Pants, jeans or other bottoms (shorts, dress, skirt, leggings, sweatpants) that extend to mid-thigh; may contain rips, but should not have cuts or tears around the waist, or expose undergarments.
    • Length to mid-thigh


    Clothing should not reveal any visible undergarments.


    Footwear (shoes, boots, sandals, etc.) that allow them to fully participate and move safely across activities.

    Conflict Resolution

    Rock It Out Rule
    When a student conflict or disagreement occurs, students should play Rock, Paper, Scissors to settle the disagreement.

    Dynasty Rule
    When a student wins three times in a row, they recycle (step out).
    If you observe this, award a paw slip for honoring the Dynasty Rule.


    Under the Cover (Covered Area)

    Students must:

    • Follow Wall Ball rules

    • Follow Four Square rules

    • Be safe

      • No kicking or throwing playground balls

      • No hard balls

    • Walk at all times

    • Use hula hoops only in the hula hoop area

    • Use jump ropes only in the jump rope area

      • No helicopter-style jumping


    Blacktop Area

    Students must:

    • Be safe

      • No kicking balls

    • Follow basketball rules

      • Three-line rules

      • All-Star rules


    Playground Structure

    Students must:

    • Not play tag on the structure

    • Be safe

      • No throwing objects off the structure

      • No jumping off the structure or benches

    • Go down slides on their bottom only

    • Not stand or climb on the slides


    Swings

    Students must:

    • Take turns by standing on a designated spot in front of the swing

    • Not enter the swing zone unless swinging

    • Swing forward and backward while facing the building

      • No “Superman”

      • No twisting

      • Bottoms only

    • Remain seated until the swing has fully stopped

      • No jumping out

    • Follow pump limits by grade level:

      • Grades 3–5: 30, 40, or 50 pumps

      • Grades K–2: May sing a song to take turns


    Garden Area

    Students must:

    • Visit the garden only when an adult is present

    • Walk at all times

    • Be respectful to plants

    • Stay off the sidewalk near the garden unless accompanied by an adult


    Field Area

    Students must:

    • Play tag only within the coned area

    • Show good sportsmanship

    • Stay within school grounds and coned boundaries

    • Use butterfly-touch only when tagging


    General Recess Rules

    • No running on the undercover blacktop

    • No hard balls (including basketballs) on the undercover blacktop

    • No Superman or spinning on swings

    • Swing rules follow 30, 40, or 50 pumps by grade level

    • Hands to self

    • Field access is open based on recess staff decision

    • Three wall ball courts available

    • 3-on-3 basketball and soccer (no goalies), two-minute playtime

    • No ropes on tetherball

    • No helicopter jump rope use

    • Hula hoops must stay in the hula area and be used safely

    • No gymnastics

      • Cartwheels are allowed on flat grass only

    • No umbrellas

    • No toys from home

    • No pencils, crayons, glue, or paper outside the quiet zone

    • No slime

    • No phones or electronic devices

    • No food or drinks

      • Water bottles are allowed and must be placed on the fence

    • No gum

    • No running or tag on the play structure

    • Students are not allowed:

      • Behind the garden

      • Behind the baseball shed

      • Near the fifth-grade classroom windows

    • No kicking wall balls

    • Do not play with tree nuts, and do not bring them inside

      • There are nut allergies in the building
