Silver Falls School District is excited to welcome James Rise as the new principal of Central Howell and Pratum schools.

James is returning to Silver Falls after serving the past three years as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Cascade High School. Prior to that, he held the same role at Silverton High School and originally joined the district in 2014 as a teacher and head baseball coach, following a successful collegiate coaching career in Texas and California.

A proud Oregonian, James earned his undergraduate degree from Western Oregon University, his Master’s in Education from Pacific University, and his administrative license from Concordia University.

“I look forward to continuing to build on the great communities of Central Howell and Pratum,” Rise shared. “As I look ahead to fall, creating positive relationships with staff, students, and parents is my first priority.”

James lives in Silverton with his wife and their two children—an eighth grader and a seventh grader—both currently attending Silverton Middle School. As a family, they enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.
