State Testing Begins This Month – Important Information for 3rd-5th Grade Families

Posted Date: 04/03/26 (11:00 AM)

Dear Robert Frost Families,

Starting this month, our 3rd through 5th grade students will begin participating in state testing. These assessments are an important way for students to demonstrate their learning and growth over the course of the school year. We are so proud of the hard work they have put in, and we are excited to see all they’ve accomplished!

Testing Schedule and Subjects:

  • 5th Grade will take assessments in English Language Arts, Math, and Science.
  • 3rd and 4th Grades will take assessments in English Language Arts and Math.
  • Testing will begin on Monday, April 13th, with 5th graders starting with the Science assessment. Testing will continue through mid-May.
To help your child feel confident and perform at their best, here are a few important ways you can support them at home:
  • Make sure they get a good night’s sleep before each testing day.
  • Encourage them to eat a healthy breakfast either at home or at school.
  • Talk to them about the importance of taking their time, doing their best, and showing all they’ve learned this year.
  • Offer encouragement and remind them how proud you are of their effort—motivation goes a long way!
We also kindly ask that you avoid scheduling appointments or pulling your student out of school during the testing window if at all possible. All testing windows are from 9:00 am - 12:20 pm. When a student misses a scheduled test, it can be challenging to coordinate make-up sessions and can disrupt their testing momentum.
Consistent attendance throughout April and May is critical to ensuring your child has every opportunity to be successful. We appreciate your partnership in helping them feel ready, confident, and supported.

Thank you for all you do to support your student and our school community. If you have any questions about testing or your child’s schedule, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student's teacher or me.

With appreciation,

Taryn Wold
