School Librarian Appreciation Day

Happy School Librarian Appreciation Day to Mrs. Mattison! We sure appreciate everything she does at Robert Frost to support our students, staff, and families!

Robert Frost Elementary Office Hours

Our office is open from 7:45 am-3:15 pm on school days. If you need to get in touch with our office, please call during office hours. You can always leave a message after hours. 

If you have a change in dismissal plans for your student(s), please contact the office by 2:30 pm.

As a reminder, doors will be open each morning at 8:00 am. 

There is NO before-school supervision available prior to 8:00. Children are able to eat breakfast or go to the morning recess at that time.  School will begin at 8:30 am and we expect all students to be in their seats and ready to go at this time. 

Early Release

Our next SFSD early release will be on Thursday, April 9. School will be dismissed at 1:00 pm.

April 7: PTC Read-a-Thon work party at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria; PTC meeting at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria

April 9: Early release at 1:00 pm

April 14: Kindergarten Round-Up at 5:30 pm

April 16: 5th grade field trip to OMSI

April 20: Robert Frost Family Picnic at 6:00 pm in the RF school garden

April 30: Read-a-Thon assembly at 2:00 pm; Art Night (more information to come)

May 1: No school-teacher work day

Dear 3rd-5th Grade Families,

I am writing to share the importance of participating in Oregon's State Tests. These assessments provide valuable information about the progress and success of our school in providing an equitable education for all students. It is important that we have high participation rates in these tests so that we can use the data to inform important decisions about the allocation of resources and the development of programs to support student learning. Additionally, the district’s state and federal funding is tied to participation rates.

As your principal, I understand the concerns that some may have about state testing. However, I want to assure you that these assessments are not about individual student performance, but rather that they provide a comprehensive picture of how our educational systems are serving all students. They are an important tool to identify areas of success and areas that need improvement, which helps us to better support the academic and social-emotional growth of all our students.

I urge all families to please allow their students to take these tests. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any of our staff members. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for all of our students.
